Introduction
Before I get into this YAP I wanted to welcome everyone to the website, this will be the first blog I write for this webpage so please let me know what you think of it. I will try to keep these things to the point and give you some helpful tips on the ins and outs of these places. Please do keep in mind that these blogs are my opinion and you may not agree to everything but these are just ideas of what you could do if you are staying or visiting the area.
Manchester is seen to be one of the UK's biggest cities in the north and is characterised by its skyscraper buildings and thriving nightlife. Living in Manchester can go one of two ways it can either be an enjoyable adventure or a miserable nightmare. In this blog, we will summarise what to expect well you travel around Manchester.
Seeking Adventure?
For those who seek adventure around Manchester, you will have to stay for a while as said before the City is huge and there are a lot of great landmarks to visit. Once you find the chance to get a day without rain and clouds Manchester can be quite a beautiful place as you will see in some of the photos on the photos page there is a lot more to it than what meets the eye. From tall skyscrapers to cathedrals to colourful artwork you can find it all in this city and this is just a brief view of the findings, although this may seem like a waste of a day to spend there are many benefits, with the high prices in certain places of food and entertainment in the city a venture around may seem like a relatively cheap day out. For football fans who want to come to this city then you have come to the right place although both grounds are a bit of a walk away with Old Trafford being in Stretford and the Etihad in Ashton Under-Lyme it is definitely worth the visit to see both of these fantastic stadiums in person. There a lot bigger than you think and are also great landmarks to go and visit, Old Trafford can be accessed via a bus service to Stretford and the Etihad can be accessible via the tram link to Sports City. As for the other landmarks including the South and East tower in Deansgate, the cathedral, and the Beetham Tower in Spinningfields, these can also be accessible by bus or if you're in the city they are within walking distance. Another interesting trip would be to the Manchester Science industry museum which is free of entry although you will have to book a slot it is a great educational trip that takes you on a great journey through history.
Fancy a Drink?
Say you are not interested in that and you think this is a load of rubbish where can I get a drink, well you won't have to go too far there's always a bar nearby. Now if you are interested in maybe going for a casual drink maybe you want to catch the football then there are plenty of pubs around that can help you with that, YAPVibe recommends O'Sheas which is an Irish pub where there is entertainment and great drinks. Maybe you want some food as well when you eat no problem the Piccadilly Tavern is also a great spot to get some food and a drink. Of course, if you are a natural to the game you will know that Wetherspoons is one of the best places to go and there are 5 of them in the city centre, YAPVibe recommends The Seven Stars at Printworks and The Paramount on Oxford Road. If you're after more of a bar vibe then there is plenty of that two, Slug and Lettuce do 2 for 1 Cocktails in most of their bars around Manchester and there are also hidden bars like The Washhouse which is disguised as a launderette.
looking for the nightlife?
Now the important part, the night out, well I'm sure someone has probably said to you Manchester is a great night out and in some instances, they aren't wrong but be prepared to spend. Depending on what music you are into will heavily depend on the clubs you will like for example if you are into Indie music you will want to go to 42's or Factory, now be warned some of these places will only let students in on certain nights so if you have student ID bring it with you. If you are into Pop or rap music maybe you like a bit of the 2000s or 90s Ark and Cargo are great places to go.
Things to consider
Although this may seem like an easy day trip you should keep in mind that the weather in Manchester is always in question, with the cold mornings and rainy days it may be more of a task to find the perfect day to go for a walk around. You may also want to make sure that you know where you are going if you are traveling out of the city it is recommended to take public transport as there are places in Manchester that are dangerous so do take care on your journey around. With that said traveling in the day should not course you any problems. With Manchester being a popular hotspot do note that it is an expensive venture, with most restaurants and bars charging very premium prices so you might want to make sure especially if you spending a few days to take a cheap day which will still fill you with entertainment and get you some exercise.
This all may seem relatively boring to the usual outgoing person but if you are interested in getting some cool photos this is certainly where the vibes are. Of course, if you are only coming up for a bit of nightlife you will get that plenty this blog was to just give you some ideas of what to do and where to go. If you enjoyed reading this then don't hesitate to give it a like and share it with your friends and if you want to get in touch comment below.
Conclusion
Towards the end of these blogs, I will give a concluding rating which will be out of 10, if it's under 5 it doesn't hit the vibe, if it's less than 7 but more than 5 then I would say it's up to personal choice, if it's over 7 then I would recommend going. It's still a work in progress at the moment.
Manchester for me gets a Vibe rating of 8, I do recommend if you are in the area or are planning on visiting the area that you take the time to explore this amazing city.
Thank you for reading.
