Best holiday in the UK, Cornwall YAP

1: Introduction

So this week I thought I would shake things up a bit, I understand that most people will be looking at going away in the summer. Most people will probably want to leave the country for a few weeks which is pretty understandable due to the circumstances we have been under. But for those of you who perhaps want to go somewhere in the UK for a holiday then I have got some great news for you. Today's YAP will be looking at Cornwall.

2: Beaches like no other

Now if you have not had the pleasure of being able to go to Cornwall then you should seriously consider it, the weather is great in the summer with highs up to 25 degrees which in my opinion is a nice temperature. Then you have the beaches, when I last went to Cornwall I went to a holiday park called Par Sands which is in the southeast of Cornwall. The picture shown below is the quieter part of the beach, on the other side there are cliffs and coves that you can climb in, all in all, it is one of the nicest beaches in the UK, however it is in contention with other beaches in Cornwall like Newquay.

3: The Lands End

Ever felt like visiting the end of the UK, although I'm pretty sure to most people this may seem pretty pointless since the UK ends in a lot of different places but do they have signs and a gift shop. I would definitely add this to one of the reasons to visit Cornwall, not only does it have signs and a gift shop it also has Ice cream vans. This landmark does offer some remarkable sights and gives you that end of the country vibe, if only you could just swim to other countries. It offers the chance to have pictures with a variety of signs and has an open market where you can buy drinks, food and even buy some merchandise. Makes for a nice day out well your there and if the weather is nice you will be in for a treat, if you need any more convincing then look at the photo below.

4: A Walkthrough St Austell

If you fancy yourself as quite the town historian then a trip to St Austell may be on the cards. This quaint town is full of history from the old cathedrals to the boats in the dock, you can't go wrong. With this, there are also some unique shops that you will find, whether there selling art or antiques they are worth the visit, who knows what hidden gems you will find. It is without a doubt that the best time to visit the town if you are into a bit of scenery is in the evening when the sun is still out where you can go down to the river and watch the boats in the docks, now this may seem boring to some but even I found myself mesmerized by the picturesque scenery. Almost felt like I was in Venice for a second.

5: The Lost Gardens of Heligan

If you ever find you are looking for a big day out and have had enough of the beach then you won't have to look too far, the Lost Garden of Heligan is one of the greatest adventures you will encounter while you are down south and a sight to behold. The main purpose of this visit is the nice scenic trip around with lots of things to see, one of the pictures I have put in was taken during the walk around which looks pretty amazing and definitely not what you would normally find in the UK. But the most exciting part of this adventure was the rope bridge that we had to cross which was overlooking part of the garden. On the whole, it is quite the trip and you can practically spend all day there and no doubt there will still be things you missed.

6: Why Cornwall?

I get that for a lot of people it may make more sense to go abroad, but places like Cornwall have so much to offer in terms of English heritage as well. With no worries of flights unless you are in another country or your very high up north, you can drive down with ease or you could catch a train down from London with GWR. With driving, it could take from up to 6 hours depending on where you are from but as you get down to the southern county the roads become a lot easier. Apart from the things I have covered in this YAP today there are also plenty of other activities you could participate in while you are away on your trip, whether you spend a week or two weeks you will be able to find something that will cater to your needs and if not spends some time down at the beach or if you are at a resort the pool.

7: Conclusion

One thing you may notice as we proceed through the many YAPS to come is that there are continuous changes to the way these blogs are presented and how they run through. As for most of these YAPS, they are all a work in progress as I am still learning how to write these to a very high standard, if you have any feedback on how you would like these blogs to be improved do not hesitate to contact me and let me know. Anyhow on to the important question of does it hit the Vibe or not, in terms of relaxing holiday vibes I would say it gets a strong 9. Although I did not go for the partying or drinking I would still say that it hits them areas since the alcohol was cheap and well it would make for an amazing camping trip. From a possible night out point of view you may not get very far in that aspect.

I hope you enjoyed reading, all photos will be uploaded to the photos page. Link below:
