A Top experience, Tottenham YAP

1.0 Introduction

Howdy folks! Before get into this YAP I am just going to give you a run down on what's going on at the moment, so as you know I have been chucking out YAPs whenever I get the time. This is because I have a new job plus my other part time job which can make it hard to find the time to write these. Rest assured though they will still be continuing. But enough of that, as you can see by the title it is quite clear what this YAP will be about so without any further a due lets get on with it.

1.1 Background

So I am a Tottenham fan, I know a lot of people ask me why I support them since I am from Stoke, but to cut a long story short I decided to pee one of my college mates off (who was an Arsenal fan) and support the rival team Tottenham. Though at the time I was not much of a football fan I began to watch Tottenham and started to enjoy the sport, as I got into Uni I began to enjoy it even more since my housemates were big football fans. Although Stoke City will have a small place in my heart, I enjoyed supporting Tottenham and still do to this day.

2.0 The real theatre of dreams

I think we all can agree that the new stadium is pretty awesome, being able to see it up close was such a amazing moment even my partner was excited for the game. The game was last December against Brentford, so I was not particularly expecting it to be that busy but wow there was an electric atmosphere there. We got to the game pretty early so we got to see abit more of the stadium which again was absolutely breath taking, the view of the pitch was great and we had not even got to our seats.

2.1 The seats

Hands down the best football game I have ever been to and one of the best nights of my life, call me a sad but it was a fantastic event. From the show that they put on before the game started to the player walk outs the excitement only built between me and Laura. But I'm getting ahead of myself here, so continuing from the last paragraph we had not even got to the seats. When I booked these seats I had the notion that they were not going to be as good as I thought but I think we could both agree we had the best seats we could have got for what we paid. We bought student tickets for around £35 and got front row seats on the home side, in front of us were the photographers then the players, we got close ups some pretty good close up shots of the training sessions. We also got photo bombed by one of the stewards.

2.2 The Game

So we got to our seats and we watched the little pre game show and the training sessions which were great but then we get to the game. I will give it to Brentford they played well and gave it there all, even there fans were great. But we also played well and scored to goals either side of the pitch, the first one being an own goal in the end, but the second one is the one that made the whole match for me. A brace from Son made it 2 and what was more amazing about it was that he came down our side of the pitch to celebrate it, which for me and even Laura was a truly emotional moment. The video below will show you that, as I'm screaming Laura had a bit of a teary moment, but the shear emotion of the crowd around us just added to the special moment which made it so good. As the game drew to a close we had capped a 2-0 victory which was applauded by both sets of fans, the atmosphere during the game was again great by both sides, for a Thursday night kick off.

2.3 Where we stayed?

Due to it being a late night kick off we decided to stay in a hotel, if you ever are thinking of visiting Tottenham or perhaps are going to a game then I would recommend staying in the Edmonton Premier Inn. It was only a 20 minute walk from the ground and it was right next to a big Tesco, driving there is also easy as you do not go through any of the congestion charge areas.

3.0 Conclusion

It was the first game I had ever been to and will not be the last, the only downer on my side is that it's so damn far away which makes it tricky to go. But for anyone who is thinking of going I would definitely recommend it, I think you all know it will get a good vibe rating because it definitely hits it. To stay unbiased I will give it a 9 as like I say for me the drive is not practical but if it was not for that a definite 10. More YAPs will be coming in the upcoming weeks just please bare in mind at the moment I am struggling with time but thank you to anyone that reads and keeps up with the series it means a lot!

Thank you for reading this YAP I hope you enjoyed it, do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any comments or feedback, or if there is anywhere you would like me tor review.
